Ron V. Brown

An accomplished writer, director, producer, cameraman and editor Brown began his career working in television, for companies such as ATN-7, ABC-2, ATV-0, Transmedia and Crawford Productions, and working on independent Australian feature films, including Mad Max and In Search of Anna.

 

Brown has managed his own company, Forté Communications, for nearly 40 years and his credits range from feature film and television productions, corporate communications and documentary, through to rock music clips and television advertising. In all, Brown has produced, directed and edited more than 500 films and videos, many of which he also wrote.

 

With partner Ruth Brown, he has produced and co-directed several feature films including Let Me Not (Nine Network), Suite For Fleur (coming to Ozflix), and No Two Snowflakes (coming to Ozflix). His fourth feature A Holly Wood Wedding is currently in pre-production. For television his cooking/travel programs have been broadcast and sold internationally and include Elizabeth Chong’s Tiny Delights, Chefs of the Great Hotels of the World (SBS TV) and the 26 part series Cooking With Kurma (SBS TV).

 

During the 1980s Brown produced and directed some of the biggest names in Australian music, making television music films for the likes of John Farnham, Crowded House, Mondo Rock, Split Enz and Tina Arena. In 2005 he produced, directed and edited much of the content for The Complete Daddy Cool documentary.

In 2015 Brown founded the Australian movie streaming service Ozflix and nonprofit sister organisation The Australian Film Future Foundation.
